  Very dissapointed in our stay, we felt as though we had booked an upmarket backpackers or were in a shared house as opposed to a beautiful spa and fire guest house. This is a house set up with four bedrooms as individual accomodation. What is supposed to be the delux room contains a spa and fireplace but the bathroom feels as though it is half complete and someone appears to live out the backyard, I loved the look of the residents underwear hanging on the line as the view from the bathroom (not). You do however have access to tea and coffee facilities in this room. The other rooms appeared to only have a fireplace and access to a communal spa bath/bathroom which is misleading from what the pictures of this place depict, the kitchen is also communal but only has standard facilities. I didnt see any cleaners throughout my stay (unfortunate for people who had to use the communal bathroom/spa) only recieved a roll of toilet paper left at my door by the host, no clean towels or the extras you would expect when you pay for accomodation etc. First view of the place appears to be run down , the gardens need some attention as a starting point to make the place look half inviting. Handy tip, make sure you bring your own stash of wood if you stay in this place as the host gives you a little to get you started upon arrival but then tells you that "you can buy more from BP service station" if you run out. I can assure you that a couple of small pieces of wood on arrival was not going to last the two night stay we had booked and yes we did have to do a trip to the service station and buy wood to keep the fire going. Not what you would expect from a spa and fire guesthouse!! Whilst it is conveniently located I wouldnt recommend this for a romantic getaway (or any planned getaway for that matter) there are alot better places to stay in Daylesford for the price.
