  Sensibly run and self-funded, the DSCR deserves a day visit from Melbourne or if you are staying in Daylesford or Hepburn Springs. I'm sure you'll have a great experience. We did!

  The Daylesford Spa Country Railway is one of the best run tourist railways in the State. Apart from a great location and brilliant Sunday Market in the car park, the Railway operates a small, manageable fleet of "Rail Motor" (single carriage, self-propelled) type trains that are in excellent condition after painstaking restoration, just one genuine ex Victorian Railways diesel-electric locomotive and a small fleet of other rolling-stock.

  Additionally the railway (infrastructure) is in first class shape as it has a "manageable" length of railway line just to Bullarto. The quality of the track is truly much better than the V/Line, non-passenger (freight) rail network! I'm not joking!

  The DSCR was a Great way to experience a rural VR Branch but they could do with some More Public relations EG a Conductor for a railway that needs 3 people to operate they surely can include a Conductor or someone to ask questions I had my Mornington railway Uniform on and the other passengers thought I worked there!

  Was hoping for something to do at the end of the line, a la Puffing Billy. Unfortunately this is more of a joy ride, where you get on spend time on the train, reach the last stop on the line and come back.
